Audition requests are now open!

Request an audition (open call for 18 plays). Follow the four steps below. Replies to your audition requests will be emailed out starting Feb. 25th. Be part of it all.

Get ready to be part of this year’s festival with 46 acting roles open! Take scroll down to read the plays. Please note: this is a non-paying, non-union event: (ACTRA apprentice/Equity apprentice are acceptable). You must be 18 years or older. 

 

Step 1:
Read the Plays

Decide which plays you'd like to audition for by scrolling down to Plays  - download and read the play (18 ten-minute plays to choose from).

You must be available for the dates listed below each play description.  Rehearsals will take place in April-May. The exact schedule will be determined by each director in discussion with the actors.

 
 
 

Step 2:
Pick Audition Times

Decide on your audition times listed below. Arrive on time - you will be there for about 40 minutes.

For all evening auditions the address is St. Luke's United Church: 353 Sherbourne St. at Carlton St. (NOTE: only enter off of Sherbourne St - you will see 353 on the door) except the Saturday audition, which will be at  58 Stewart Street (King and Bathurst).

Step 3:
Fill in the form

FILL IN THE FORM HERE.

The form will ask you:

  1. Your name, phone number and email address.

  2. Attach a photo of yourself (JPEG format). It does not need to be a professional headshot, any up-to-date photo headshot is acceptable, ideally in black and white (free website to turn you photo into B & W: https://www199.lunapic.com/editor/?action=effect-bw). You can change your headshot later.

  3. A bio of not less than 50 words and not more 100 words (don't worry you will be able to change it later). You can also attach a resume or write about your theatre experience.

  4. Your requested audition date/times for up to two plays. Include the audition date and time and role(s) you are auditioning for.

You may also select other plays to audition for - include dates, times and roles. We will allow you to audition for those plays if there is space.

 
 
 

 Step 4:
Audition

Wait to receive an email which will confirm your times - we will respond within 3-5 business days. If you do not receive a reply after 3-5 business days please email: erin.ohanley@gmail.com.  

Once you receive confirmation show up 10-15 minutes early than your scheduled time to your audition. You will be asked to do a two page reading from the play (found under the play description) - no memorization required. You do not need to bring a headshot or resume.

Note: After the auditions, only those actors selected for a role will be contacted (by April 3.)

Plays

 
 

NOTE: The plays are posted for the purpose of selecting directors and actors. Any use of a play, either in whole or in part, must have the expressed permission of the playwright.

All plays will be performed at the Alumnae Theatre in Toronto on the Mainstage, Studio or the Trinity Room.

Rehearsals will take place in April-May. The exact schedule will be determined by each director in discussion with the actors.
